Local IDE
How to use local IDEs with remote compute-node sessions on NowWhat.
This section collects instructions for using a local IDE with files and interpreters running on NowWhat.
Do not use the login node for IDE-backed interactive work. The login node is only the SSH entry point and jump host.
Available IDE Guides
| IDE | Page | Typical use |
|---|---|---|

Common Requirements
Before following an IDE-specific guide, make sure that:
- you can reach
nowwhat.stat.unipd.itfrom your network or VPN - you can log in from a terminal with SSH
- your SSH configuration includes aliases for the login node and compute nodes
- you understand that the remote IDE backend must run only while a SLURM allocation is active
Each IDE guide includes the exact SSH, SLURM, and application commands needed for that tool.
